Please note, this feature is experimental. Some glitches or unexpected behaviour is possible.
Lightact allows you to visualize your project in virtual reality. It supports Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
With both, you can start the preview by going to Window and clicking on VR view. If your VR headset is detected correctly, you should see a small grey checkmark next to VR view.
If not, you’ll see a log post saying that no VR headset was detected.
Controls in Oculus Rift
You can move around your scene using the thumbstick on Oculus Touch controllers. One hand moves you up or down and the other moves you forward, backward, left or right. The orientation is based on where you are looking.
Controls in HTC Vive
If you are using HTC Vive, you can move around using the trackpad on the Vive controllers. Please note that you have to depress the pad to initiate movement. Similarly to Oculus, one hand moves you up or down and the other moves you forward, backward, left or right. The orientation is based on where you are looking.
If you open Preferences window by clicking on File and then to Preferences and, once there, opening the View tab, you should see a few properties under the VR section.
The most important one is Speed, which adjusts how fast you are moving in VR. Values ranging from 0.5 to 5 are usually about right. If you check Flip hands you’ll flip the functionality of right and left hand.
